Michael P. Murphy Award presentation on Pentagon Channel, Veterans Day
This Veteran's Day - the airing of the American Veterans Center Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy Award for Valor in Afghanistan presented to Medal of Honor Recipient Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta will take place on the Pentagon Channel. The Pentagon Channel streams live on the internet to our military around the world.
Go to http://www.pentagonchannel.mil/LiveStream.aspx on Nov 11th & 12th - 2AM, 10AM and 10PM (all eastern times).
The presentation of the Murphy Award for Valor in Afghanistan has been awarded by the AVC for the last 3 years. The Murphy family could not be in attendance this year due to illness and the incoming Hurricane Sandy. The award was presented to SSG Giunta by General Richard B. Meyers, MOPHSF Director Jeff Roy and AVC Founder James Roberts as shown in the attached photo.
The American Veteran's Center is committed to Honoring American Heroes from the Greatest Generation to the Latest Generation. The Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation has supported the AVC in providing the Wounded Warrior Panel each year at their conference.
This years panel will also be aired on Veteran's day on the Pentagon Channel.
Go to http://www.pentagonchannel.mil/LiveStream.aspx on Nov 11th & 12th - 3AM, 1PM and 8PM (all eastern times).
The panel included MOPH Patriot Charles Eggleston and features veterans and active duty service members sharing their own stories of perseverance in the face of adversity. The event is hosted by Jennifer Griffin, National Security Correspondent for the Fox News Channel.
Actions such as that provided by the Military Order of the Purple Heart , the Pentagon Channel and American Veterans Center bring meaning to Veterans Day in a very special way.
We give thanks to ALL who served and continue to serve and their families. May we live lives worthy of their service and sacrifice.
