MOPHSF Welcomes New National Commander Clayton Jones

Clayton Jones.pngOn August 14, 2010 at the 2010 MOPH National Convention in Orlando, Florida, Clayton Jones of Nixa, Missouri was elected as National Commander of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, a national veteran service organization with more than 44,000 members.

National Commander Clayton Jones served as a Chapter, Department, and Region Commander before being elected to the national leadership of The Military Order of the Purple Heart in 2008.  Since then, Mr. Jones, has served as National Junior Vice Commander and as National Senior Vice Commander.  He has also served as Chairman of the National Finance Committee.

Clayton is a native of Illinois, but lived the majority of his life in Oklahoma and Missouri.  Patriot Jones entered the U.S. Army in 1961.  He served proudly with the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam from 1965 thru 1967 where he received the Purple Heart as a result of shrapnel wounds.  After leaving the service, Jones was a Senior Manager with Greyhound Bus Corporation, before retiring to establish and operate his own successful insurance agency in Nixa, Missouri.  In 2008, Patriot Jones retired after almost 20 years in business and now dedicates all of his efforts towards service to his fellow Veterans.  He and his wife, Sharon, live in Nixa, Missouri.

Jones' goals during his tenure as Commander include improving all aspects of service to veterans and their families, expanding and improving the National Service Program of The Military Order of the Purple Heart, improving communications at all levels within the organization, and expanding the active involvement of local chapters and state departments in veteran support activities.  Read more on Commander Jones -
